Elizabeth and Chris’s ceremony was held at the Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Atlanta, and their swanky reception was at the Four Seasons Hotel in Midtown Atlanta. I tried out a new second shooter, Jonathan Phillips for this wedding, and he did a great job! Elizabeth and Chris are the sweetest couple. We wish them the best! Here are a few of my favorites from their wedding day.

Jess and Mike got married at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Atlanta, and then partied into the night at the Houston Mill House at Emory. I’d like to thank Martin, one of my talented second shooters for his hard work on this wedding. This couple is so cute and sweet, it’s difficult to take a bad photo of them! Here are a few of my favorite shots from their big day.

Elizabeth and Tyler

Elizabeth and Tyler’s wedding was the perfect “warm-up” shoot for my wedding season! They got married at Peachtree Presbyterian Church in Buckhead, and only wanted two hours of photos, mostly of the two of them and some family shots. So, they got to take advantage of my new “Build Your Own Wedding Package” that I just added. Elizabeth’s veil had been in Tyler’s family for a few generations, and her dress was so simple and elegant. What a cute pair!

Alex’s Bat Mitzvah

The Levine family booked my several months ago for their daughter Alex’s Bat Mitzvah. They threw a lunch celebration for Alex at Luciano’s in John’s Creek. The Levines could probably help other families with ideas for Bat Mitzvah parties, because they threw an amazing shindig! The kids had their own buffet, goody bags with puzzles, a sweet slide show of family pics and then games organized by some of the actors at Dad’s Garage. The photo booth was a big hit, and the Levines brought tons of silly hats and other props that the kids enjoyed. The afternoon wrapped up with an improv show by the talented crew at Dad’s Garage.

The Ghosts Project

When my friend Davis Petterson asked me to do some promo shots for his band, The Ghosts Project, I was thrilled! I love their music, and I was flattered that he asked me to help them out. We shot at two locations, and old warehouse that will soon be transformed into The Big Nerd Ranch headquarters, and a field near my house. Here are a few of my favorites from our recent photo session. I also asked my buddy Nick to do some film photos with his toy cameras, so I’ll post some of those soon, too.

2012 Gonna Rock!

This is going to be one of these sappy posts about how I love my friends and I have the best group of friends ever. I have visual proof of their awesomeness because I set up a photo booth at a recent New Years Eve party.

Becky and Dave, party hosts extraordinaire.

My friends Dave and Becky have thrown a New Years Eve party every year for several years, and their shindigs are the best! Some might say that they are the social center of our friend group, hosting baby and bridal showers galore. They are also very talented writers. Becky does blogging and writing for several publications, and she also does crafting tutorials and recipes on Glue and Glitter. By day, Dave works for Cartoon Network. By night, he’s a poetry and fiction writer with his publishing company Timid Futures.

Christy and Davis are another pair of my super awesome friends! Christy is a local Atlanta crafter and runs the Indie Craft Experience. Davis is a drummer with The Ghosts Project. I’m hoping to do a band shoot for him very soon.

Nick plays rock music!

Nick Ingkatanuwat works for Cartoon Network and is a very talented writer, designer and musician. I wish I could post a link to his web site, but it’s super-secret. Below is a photo of his beautiful wife Laura Louise, who works for Vegetable Husband.

No post about my loved ones would be complete without a silly photo of me and my hubby Robert. Robert is my best friend in the whole world and my biggest fan. He’s been writing for How Stuff Works now for almost four years, and I’m so proud of him. He’s also a fiction writer and has a book of short stories coming our soon.

I’ve decided I like my yoga teacher’s use of “intentions” better than “resolutions.” My intentions for 2012 are to build up my photography business and to start a family. Also, spend more time with my amazing friends. 2012 Gonna Rock.

Family photo shoot for the Glovers

The Glovers have a big family. Big, big, BIG! Fourteen in all, and that’s a lot of people to get into one shot without blinking. They asked me for photos of their family while all of them were gathered in Atlanta for the holidays. It rained on the one day that worked for our schedules, so we had to think of an indoor location. Luckily, one of the family works at this cool building on Georgia Tech’s campus. We did several big group shots, and then did some photos of just the girls, then just the boys. It was a really fun shoot, and made me wish that I was part of a huge and fun family like the Glovers.

This was my favorite of the big group shots.

Event photos for National Society of High School Scholars

A couple of weeks ago, I covered an event for the National Society of High School Scholars at the Carter Center here in Atlanta. The Carter Center is a fun place to shoot, and the speeches were very inspirational. I got a good variety of shots from registration to podium photos and several pics from the college fair at the end of the event.

Leopold the Lion is NSHSS's mascot.

The program began with a performance from "No Strings Attached."

The keynote speaker was from Claes Nobel, founder of NSHSS.

Parents and students had a chance to ask questions during the college fair at the end of the event.

Margie is the owner and manager of a super cool business called Vegetable Husband. She gathers organic seasonal veggies from local farms and distributes them to weekly subscribers all over Atlanta. Robert and I have been fans of her business for over a year now. When she asked me to do photos of her family, I was thrilled! Margie had a great idea… she knew it would be next to impossible to photograph three humans and three dogs all looking at the camera, so she asked me to take shots of each of them, with the others out of focus in the background. She said it represented the chaos going on in their everyday lives. I loved the idea, and the shoot was so much fun!!!

Mellow Mushroom got its start right here in Atlanta, and the corporate office is still here. This week they hired me to take some cool photos in three different stores in the Atlanta area for the to use on their new web site and social media. Each store had it’s own cool vibe, and I enjoyed capturing some of the flavor in each location.
